VERY RARE, FINEST KNOWN! >>SOLD<<

Fr.1870D*, 1929 STAR Cleveland FRBN, D00002135*

There are only six known survivors of the Cleveland Star Federal Reserve Bank Note in all grades. This example is the finest of all. It has been graded XF-40 by PCGS Banknote, which is solidly above the grades of the other five. However, it has the appearance of a much higher grade, to the point of questioning the factors that resulted in any grade lower than AU. But since we purchased this note already certified with the grade opinion, we hesitate to remove it from the holder for a personal examination and will continue to rely on the expert opinion of PCGS-B. Regardless of any technical grade, it is what it is: a beautiful example of a very rare note and still the finest known $20 Cleveland Star FRBN of the 24,000 printed and only 6 surviving.

The September 2006 Heritage currency sale included this note, which was sold for $10,350.
