1928 $50 Chicago Star Federal Reserve Note, Fr.2100-G*, low serial number G00004329*

This star note is of the variety very popular with collectors because of the numeral form of the Federal Reserve district seal and the "redeemable in gold on demand" clause. These early Chicago $50 stars are rare, with only about three dozen notes on record and only five above VF in condition. This Fine+ example has seen some use, but has a rather pleasing appearance including excellent margins. Were the back slightly better we would not hesitate grading it Very Fine. Some body to the paper remains, consistent with a grade higher than Fine.
