RARE - Signer of The Declaration of Independence!

PA-156, Signer of the Declaration of Independence, John Morton 2S, April 3, 1772, Fine, PCGS-12

This is a technically Fine example of the Two Shilling note of Pennsylvania Colony bearing the rare and important signature of John Morton, signer of the Declaration of Independence. His signature is bold and prominent on the front of the note. Together with the other two signers, unimpaired by any of the negative factors affecting other areas of the note. A narrow section of the note at the back right margin has experienced a loss of printing and there are numerous tiny wormholes throughout the body of the note. Fortunately, little of the printing and none of the all-important hand-signed signature ink is affected.

John Morton provided the swing vote that resulted in Pennsylvania joining the revolution and was Chairman of the committee that wrote the Articles of Confederation.
