You have to appreciate the enthusiasm of "Where's George" hobbyists, but what a shame to deface an important Star Note Mismatch Error such as this with their rubber stamps. The note was cleaned before we bought it and while the remnants of the markings are still apparant, they are much subdued and the lightly circulated note actually still looks quite nice. Priced accordingly at considerably less than an unmarked example.

We have seen about a half dozen examples of this error that have sold at auction. Prices reached as much as $2700.00 in Very Fine and $3800.00 in Gem.
