This is an example of the proposed 1897 $10 Agricultural Silver Certificate design that would have added a denomination to the 1896 Educational Series. Plates were engraved but the note was never issued. The Bureau of Engraving and Printing issued a souvenir proof on card stock for collectors utilizing the original engraving and the intaglio printing method. This piece was extracted from that card and is the approximate size of a regular note.
