The Prairie Depot National Bank of Freeport, Wood County, Ohio, Charter #7896, Fr.617, 1902 Plainback $10, SN 3249, Choice Fine, PMG-15.

This note is a newly discovered example that now joins the only other large-size note confirmed to exist. The previously unique note is also a 1902PB $10 but it exhibits some serious condition problems including very ragged split edges. The census reports an estimated raw grade of Good "4". It surfaced over 12 years ago. Our note is at least on the cusp of VF-20, but does have a few tiny rust stains as noted so we won't quarrel with Paper Money Guarantee's opinion of Choice Fine.

The current name of this small village is Wayne, the third name after Prairie Depot and Freeport. The bank expired early in the Great Depression (1931) after being in business a short 14 years. Small-Size notes were also issued in small numbers before the dissolution but they are also rare with only two known survivors.
