The vignettes on this note are among our favorites. The art and execution of the Native American scenes represent the finest of the engravings produced by the Danforth, Wright banknote printers of New York. The company's notes include a number of attractive Indian engravings. This two dollar example is a remainder but, unlike most, was signed by Secretary and Cashier Leroy Tuttle (subsequently Assistant Treasurer of the United States) and apparently circulated. It is in Choice Very Fine condition and looks even nicer.
