An Important Ten Dollar Silver Certificate >>Sold<<

Fr.1705* (W), 1934D $10 Star Silver Certificate, Wide Variety, Very Choice AU, PCGS-58 Premium Paper Quality.

A rare Star Note in this grade, whether Wide or Narrow variety. We have seen no other of either variety PCGS-graded at "58" and only four notes graded higher. Reportedly, the next highest graded "PPQ" designated note is a single Very Fine, PCGS-35. In addition, the other service, PMG, reports only two notes in "58" and eight higher.

Beyond the technical grade, this note is superior even as a certified "58" in that, even with the PPQ superlative, the reason for not meeting Gem grade defies detection. It requires a careful, knowledgable, examination to find a very light off-center partial fold or bend, whereas the original embossing is very pronounced and visible at a glance. Also, the note is well centered with broad margins and good registration front and back, as found on higher-end Gem notes

With Uncirculated 1934D Stars selling from around $4,000.00 to over $15,000.00, the price of this high quality example can be considered a good value.
