The Bellefontaine National Bank, Bellefontaine, Ohio, Charter 1784, First Charter Original $1, SN2090, PMG-4n

This is one of only two known aces from the first bank chartered in Bellefontaine, the county seat of Logan County, Ohio. The note has a catalog value of $1500 in Fine condition, although this example is well below that with a Paper Money Guarantee grade opinion of Good-4, Net. "Tape Repairs" are noted due to internal splits that have been reinforced on the back with archival tape. The appearance is not so bad for the grade as much color and detail remain, including fully readable signatures of the President and Cashier. Provenance is also noted on the label by PMG referencing that this note was once part of the collection of famed numismatist Q. David Bowers.
