A wonderful example of a $1000 Philadelphia Bank of the United States note (payable at New York) dated December 15, 1840, Serial Number 8723. It is boldly endorsed on the back, including four interest payment notations. This is a very historical financial document that has survived in an exceptional degree of preservation and the nicest example we have been able to offer. Practically speaking, the note is Uncirculated and has no full folds. However, evidence of handling results in the technical, collector, grade of Very Choice AU, reflected in the PMG-58 grade opinion and certification of authenticity.

Do not confuse this note with the infamous unmarked phony replicas (Serial No. 8894) on fake parchment paper that is out in the world in the thousands (see "Click Here For More Details", above).
