PA-115, Pennsylvania Colony, June 18 1764, 3 Pence, [Benjamin Franklin] Choice AU, PCGS-55a

# 3069
Rare Issue Printed by Benjamin Franklin SOLD

A lightly virtually new example of one of the scarcer Pennsylvania issues; this issue displays the British Arms instead of the Penn Arms.

Bearing the bold signature of Thomas Wharton. (the first President of Pennsylvania), this note was printed by Benjamin Franklin and David Hall.

It is certified and graded by PCGS with the designation "Choice About New - 55 Apparent" The apparent designation is noted "small ink stains and minor foreign substance on back". Careful examination indicates that these minor marks are consistent with the ink used in the numbering and signing of the note and were picked up during that exercise at the time of issue. The note is basically new but for a light off-center vertical fold.
